Checking accounts to meet your needs!

The First National Bank of Harveyville offers both interest bearing and non-interest bearing accounts to meet your financial needs. 

We also participate in the government sponsored Electronic Transfer Account Program for individuals who receive federal benefits, wages, salary, or retirement payments. These are accounts for individuals to receive their Federal payments electronically (direct deposit) only.

The following outline summarizes all of our checking accounts which will give you an idea of what type of personal checking accounts we offer. The Maintenance Fees and per item fee will be assessed whenever your lowest daily balance for the statement cycle falls below the minimum daily balance required. If no minimum balance, maintenance fees listed will always apply.
Our Regular Checking Account (DDA) is our most requested type of account. Customers who maintain a high balance may benefit by having an interest bearing account.

  • Minimum balance to open account is $100.00
  • A service charge fee of $4.00 will be imposed every statement cycle if the balance in the account falls below $300.00 any day of the cycle.
  • A per item fee of $.15 will be charged for each debit transaction (withdrawal, check paid, automatic transfer or payment out of this account excluding check card transactions). This fee will apply if the minimum daily balance falls below $300.00.
  • Overdraft and Return Item fee are $20.00 per item.
  • An insufficient funds item may be created by check, in-personal withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or electronic means.

A NOW account is an interest-earning bank account whereby the owner may write drafts against the money held on deposit.

  • Your interest rate and annual percentage yield may change
  • We may change the interest rate on your account at any time
  • We may change the interest rate on your account at our discretion
  • Interest will be credited and compounded on a monthly basis
  • Minimum balance to open the account is $750.00
  • A maintenance fee of $4.00 will be imposed every statement cycle if the balance in the account falls below $750.00 any day of the cycle.
  • We use the daily balance method to calculate the interest on your account. This method applies a periodic rate to the principle in the account each day.
    Interest begins to accrue on the business day you deposit cash and non-cash items (for example, checks)
  • A per item fee of $.25 will be charged for each debit transaction (withdrawal, check paid, automatic transfer, or payment out of this account excluding check card transactions). This fee will apply if the minimum daily balance falls below $750.00.
  • Overdraft and return item fees are $20.00 per item.
  • An insufficient funds item may be created by check, in-person withdrawal, ATM withdrawal or other electronic means.

The average daily balance is calculated by adding the principal in the account for each day of the period and dividing that figure by the number of days in the period.

  • A maintenance fee of $10.00 will be imposed each monthly statement cycle if the average daily balance for the monthly statement cycle falls below $1,500.00. The average daily balance is calculated by adding the principal in the account for each day of the period and dividing that figure by the number of days in the period.
  • We use the daily balance computation method to calculate the interest. This method applies a daily periodic rate to the principal in the account each day.
  • Interest begins to accrue on the business day you deposit cash and non-cash items such as checks
  • A per item fee of $.25 will be charged for each debit transaction (withdrawal, check paid, automatic transfer, or payment out of this account excluding check card transactions). This fee will apply if the minimum balance falls below $1,500.00
